The Chief Executive Officer of Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tarah Shaanika was involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming pick-up, between Omakange and Itananga village of the Kunene Region, in the early hours of Saturday morning. Kunene Regional Crime Investigator Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu confirmed the accident. Kanyetu says a 41-year-old female driver of the pickup was trying to avoid hitting a cow before smashing into the vehicle Shaanika was driving. Shaanika was admitted to the Ongwediva Medi-park Hospital and his condition is described as stable. The deceased was identified as Lilie Nepempe, who reportedly died on the scene. Next of kin have already been informed.
