Windhoek Mayor, Muesee Kazapua has invited residents to join the City at the switching-on ceremony of the Christmas lights on Saturday. The event will be held at Zoo Park along Independence Avenue and will start at 19h00. Making the call during the monthly council meeting on Tuesday, Kazapua said the Christmas lighting event will be coupled with exciting activities, including a Christmas market on Friday and Saturday, and a handover of goods to identified vulnerable groups. The Christmas market will be held along Independence Avenue and Post Street Mall, with exhibitions of handmade items, city heritage hunt competition, and live music. The switching on of these lights is done annually to mark the start of the festive season.
