Eighteen members of Swapo’s Politburo, the first nine from the male and female lists as elected, were sworn in on Saturday. The Politburo consists of 24 members. Eighteen are elected, two will be the presidential nominees while the party’s top four leaders make up the rest of the Politburo. President Hage Geingob is yet to nominate his two candidates to the Politburo. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadilha, with 66 votes and Nangolo Mbumba, with 62 votes topped the two lists.
