Otjiwarongo Town Council has re-elected Bennes Haimbondi as the town’s Mayor during the annual election of office bearers. The Otjiwarongo town council is managed by seven local authority councillors, the majority being from the SWAPO Party. Haimbondi is to be deputised by Modertha Shaduka. Hilda Jesaya, also retained her position as the Chairperson of the Management Committee. In his acceptance speech, Haimbondi called on council members to strive towards growing the town’s economy to address poverty and unemployment.
