On 3 December NBC TV News aired the story of Simaneka Leonard, a boy from Windhoek who suffers from imperforate anus. He was born with his intestines hanging out of his stomach. As a result he cannot release faeces. The only solution was to cut his colon to enable him to discharge through a colostomy bag. When the story was shared on NBC NEWS – 8, NBC News’ Facebook page, many Namibians showed interest and wanted to help.
