2016’s Heroes day will be commemorated at the town of Walvis Bay in the Erongo Region next week Friday. Every year since Independence in 1990, Namibia celebrates Heroes’ Day on 26 August to commemorate the start of the armed struggle, which was launched at Omugulugwombashe in the Omusati region in 1966, when SWAPO guerrillas fired the first shots at the then South African Forces.
