Police in the Oshana Region arrested five suspects in connection with an armed robbery at Ongwediva on Thursday morning. The armed suspects were apprehended while trying to get away in a sedan with an Otjowarongo registration number. They allegedly robbed a market at the town of cash and recharge vouchers. The suspects also assaulted the owner and a security guard. They then fled the scene towards Ondangwa, with the police in pursuit and were caught a few kilometres before Ondangwa. Police Commissioner Rauha Amwele confirmed the incident to NBC News, saying the suspects were hard-core criminals who had pending cases. The Police recovered the money.
