Agriculture Minister John Mutorwa, has appealed to Meatco and the Directorate of Veterinary Services, DVS, to handle the Zeranol issue at Meatco’s Okapuka feedlot calmly. The directorate temporarily closed the feedlot earlier in September after two bulls tested positive for zeranol, an animal hormone enhancing substance banned under the European Union regulations.
