Four new high school subjects have been introduced by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. From 2021, Grade 12s will be able to take Agriculture Science, Chemistry, Physics and Entrepreneurship as subjects under the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Higher course. The new subjects introduced are part of the revised curriculum for high schools, just announced by the Ministry. In a statement, the Ministry of Education says the subjects were identified because they will support the development of relevant skills required by the Namibian economic system. Existing high school subjects are: Biology, Geography, History, Computer Studies, Mathematics, Business Studies, Design and Technology, Accounting, Economics and Art Design. Subjects for the development of values; and personal and social skills, are: Life Skills, Arts, Communications, Physical Education; and Information Communications.
