The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the suspension of Bovine Tuberculosis testing for cattle destined to be exported to the South African market. This decision follows successful negotiations between the ministry and its South African counterpart, and farmers are requested to contact the nearest state veterinary office for more information. In June, South Africa announced new regulations demanding that a whole cattle herd had to be tested for tuberculosis and lung sickness, before a producer could export any animal from the herd.
