The The Omaheke Governor’s Office has donated food items to Epukiro community members. The items include sugar, pasta, tinned and fresh fish, valued at 80 000 dollars. That was done as part of the annual Governor’s Charity Day, initiated by Governor Festus Ueitele in 2015, after seeing the need to give back to communities. One of the companies that contributed to the initiative this year is Ohere Fishing Company, which donated two tonnes of fish. Advisor to the Governor, Pijoo Nganate, told Nampa that the idea behind the initiative was to instill the value of community giving and caring. Nganate said the event was successful and that his office looked forward to working with individuals, business people and farmers in the region, to help the poorest of the poor. In 2015, the office donated food items to almost 800 households, while giving foodstuffs to almost 450 households this year.
