Paratus Namibia has dismissed an earlier nbc News report that quoted a cybersecurity expert saying the company “appears to still be in the dark” about the extent of the data compromised.

Paratus Namibia’s legal advisor, Bernice Keet, dismissed this as misleading and unsubstantiated, stressing that Paratus has had no direct contact with the nbc or any other media beyond its official media release.

She further noted that Paratus has acted in line with its incident response protocols, successfully containing the threat and minimising further disruption, with an ongoing investigation underway. The company says the breach primarily affected internal operational files related to Paratus Namibia.

Keet further denied as correct the nbc News report, which linked the attack to a December 2024 hacking incident at Telecom Namibia, saying that the attack on Paratus occurred on 13 February 2025 and was unrelated to the earlier event.
