A two-year-old child has died as a result of drowning at Otjozondjupa Region. This was confirmed by Otjozondjupa Police spokesperson, Maureen Mbeha on Monday. Inspector Mbeha says the deceased has been identified as Musenge John Ndoka. He drowned in a dam at Erindi Omaue farm on Sunday about 18h00. The farm is situated about 60 kilometres south of Otjiwarongo. His next of kin have been informed. Also in the same region, a Namibian Police officer died in a car accident at Rooidag gate in the Tsumkwe area on Sunday. Mbeha says the deceased has not yet been identified but is 32 years old. He was driving a private vehicle that left the road and overturned, shortly after 01h00. He died on the spot, while four other vehicle occupants sustained serious injuries. They were travelling from Mangetti to Maroelaboom at the time of the accident. The injured were taken to Mangetti Clinic for medical observations. Police investigations into the matter continue.
