The National Unity Democratic Organisation’s (NUDO) Youth League has called for the amendment of article 47 of the Constitution, which deals with disqualification of a person as a member of the National Assembly. The youth league wants the clause to be amendened to prohibit convicts, who are given the option of a fine, not to be allowed to stand as members of Parliament.
