Air Namibia confirmed the suspension of three of its management staff. The suspensions took effect on Friday and will allow the airline to conclude and finalise pending investigations into the conduct of the affected officials. The three employees are Senior Manager for Sales and Marketing, Wimpie Van Vuuren, Cargo Sales Manager Johannes Blaauw and Cargo Operations Manager Abraham Nasab. The reasons for their suspension had been explained to them, Air Namibia’s Manager for Corporate Communications Paul Nakawa said in a statement issued this morning, adding that the charges would not be made public in line with the company’s disciplinary policy, when dealing with such matters. Meanwhile, the national airline has instructed that there should be no communication between the suspended managers and fellow Air Namibia staff, either directly or indirectly, so as not to hinder the ongoing internal investigations.
