The Ministry of Health and Social Services has condemned photos circulating on social media about unhygienic conditions of the Gastro Unit at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital. In a media statement, the Executive Director of the ministry Ben Nangombe noted that the pictures circulating on social media were taken three years ago. He explained that mothers of the admitted children disposed nappies and linen savers into toilets which caused blockages. Mothers were educated about the danger of doing so and since then no such incidences were reported. Nangombe added that the current situation at the maternity ward is different and all wards are clean.
