Former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Javier Perez de Cuellar has died. He was 100 years old. De Cuellar played a pivotal role in securing an international settlement that led to Namibia’s independence. He was the UN’s fifth Secretary-General between 1982 and 1991, following a long diplomatic career.
