Information and Communication Technology Minister Dr Peya Mushelenga, during an update at the COVID-19 Communication Centre, said those travelling for funerals must be less than 10 and must have a death certificate. He called on the nation to cooperate with the authorities. At the event, Deputy Health Minister Esther Utjiua Muinjangue emphasised that Government is committed to fighting COVID-19 and highlighted that the public’s responsibility is to adhere to all measures put in place, especially for the prevention of community transmission. Muinjangue also commended the health officials for their dedication in fighting this pandemic. The acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Namibia Institute of Pathology (NIP), Dr David Uirab reiterated its role of providing laboratory services to the public and private sectors. He said the institution has managed to acquire new testing machines to be delivered end of April. He said at the moment testing is only done in Windhoek but once the equipment is delivered, will they be able to decentralise to other health facilities and be able to test samples as they come in.
