The Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Utjiua Muinjangue acknowledged that the Government is working around the clock to strengthen COVID-19 measures. Muinjangue said Namibia still stands at 16 of confirmed COVID-19 cases. The minister was, however, happy to announce that three out of the 16 cases have recovered. They were retested and have shown no signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The 13 cases are still in isolation and their conditions remain stable. Muinjangue also said there are close to 300 people who returned to the country who are in quarantined facilities, 34 have been released, after showing no signs of COVID-19 and have undergone counselling. She said Hardap Resort has 40 people in isolation and have shown no signs, Rock lodge has 39 people also with no signs of the virus, Gross Barmen has 22 who have also shown no signs, the Zambezi Waterfront park has 62 people, three are showing signs of COVID-19, 139 are in other quarantine facilities and four are showing signs. Muinjangue also noted that the tracing and testing process is ongoing for all the people who were in contact with the confirmed cases. She made the remarks at the afternoon update at the COVID-19 Communication Centre in Windhoek.
