Minister of Health and Social Services, Kalumbi Shangula said 333 samples have been tested since the lockdown, 16 tested positive for COVID-19. Shangula emphasised that Namibia has not recorded any COVID-19-related deaths. “So far we have done well in controlling the pandemic”, said Shangula. He further called on the Namibians to have faith in the health officials, remain calm and follow the necessary procedures. So far 263 people were quarantined, 109 were discharged from the quarantine facilities. Fifteen people were placed in isolation with one hospitalised. Today, the 23rd day since the declaration of the state of emergency, Dr Shangula and the Minister of International Relations, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was on the panel from the COVID-19 Communication Centre.
