The Ministry of Education is calling on all teachers and institutional workers who are away from their duty stations to remain where they are as no travel permits will be issued to them. The Ministry’s Executive Director in a statement issued this afternoon encouraged school management to design and implement their COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan and communicate them to teachers and parents through cellphone interaction or emails. Sanet Steenkamp says teachers as professionals must remain duty-bound during this period and use it for preparing relevant learning material. However, school management and teachers already at their duty stations and who wish to operate from school facilities will not be stopped, but are urged to adhere to the WHO regulations.
