Tim Ekandjo, executive member of the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) has announced that the awards body added two more artists to the Artist of the Decade category. The duo are a former member of girl-duo Oteya and popular Kwaito artist Mushe. This brings the number of nominees for that category to seven. Ekandjo also announced that the group Tswazis has been removed from the category Song of the Year. He explained that the release date of the song they entered did not meet the requirements as stipulated. Song of the Year is nominated from the list of songs who received most airplay during the qualifying year. Tswazis has now been replaced by Y’Clif with his song ‘Namibian Queen’. The NAMAs, which was scheduled to take place on 2 May, at The Dome in Swakopmund, has been indefinitely postponed due to the emergency regulations imposed due to COVID-19. A new date will be announced once the regulations are lifted.
