The call by the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) for all nonprofit organisations, including churches, to register in order to monitor the movement of their money, has been received with mixed reactions. FIC placed advertisements in local newspapers in which non-profit organisations involved in raising, disbursing and cross-border movement of funds are required to register themselves, in order to combat possible financial crimes.
