A Finnish based company, Earth House Systems plans to build houses in different parts of Namibia under the Smart Community housing initiative. Namibia faces a back-log of about 300 000 housing units in rural as well as urban areas and fears that the pace of housing delivery is too slow to meet the huge public demand.
