Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe has made a financial commitment of N$42 million to Namibia for technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Abe made the commitment during a closed-door bilateral meeting with President Hage Geingob in Yokohama on Thursday. President Geingob is in Japan for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). State House press secretary, Alfredo Hengari told NBC News that details on the financial commitment would be communicated soon. According to Hengari, Japan is also willing to assist Namibia in natural disaster management. He said the two leaders further discussed private sector participation between Namibia and Japan.
