The Windhoek East Constituency Councillor, Matheus Amadhila, says senior citizens play a significant role in nation-building. Therefore, Amadhila, said it is important that society takes good care of its grandparents. Amadhila made the remarks during a visit to the Schanzen Oord Old Age Home in Windhoek on Friday. It was the Councillor’s second visit to the old age home and he was looking forward to many more visits. He announced that the Khomas Regional Council is negotiating with City of Windhoek about a water and electricity subsidy for the elderly. Standing Committee Deputy Chairperson Joyce Namuhuja expressed her excitement to visit the elderly.
