An armed robbery and attempted murder suspect has escaped police custody in Omaruru. The police say Johannes Immanuel was kept with other inmates, before his escape on Saturday. The 21-year-old Immanuel was waiting to appear in court, for multiple cases of housebreaking, armed robbery and attempted murder. The suspect also has pending charges in Okahandja. Immanuel is Oshiwambo speaking, born in Omaruru and has family in Otjiwarongo and Okahandja. A manhunt to re-arrest the suspect is underway, and the Police have appealed to the public to assist with information.
