The Namibian Annual Music Awards has been postponed indefinitely. The awards ceremony was slated for 2 May. Tim Ekandjo, awards executive, in a short statement, explained that a new date for the awards will be announced once the extended lockdown has been lifted. He further urged all artist to adhere to the lockdown regulations.

Despite state of emergency regulations allowing tuck shops to trade, those in Swakopmund have been shut down. Police say that 90% of such tuck shops in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund are illegal, and are used to sell alcohol and drugs.
