Laws hinder private sector contribution in Health

The Minister of Health and Social Services expressed discontent against the Public Procurement Act and the Public Private Partnership Act saying it hampers the implementation of programmes aimed at uplifting the health sector. Bernard Haufiku was speaking at a breakfast engagement session with the private sector in support of a health project in Windhoek.

Stop granting unlimited harvesting permits

Traditional authorities have been urged to desist from granting unlimited harvesting permits which may lead to deforestation and extinction of various wild fruits. The call was made by the Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta at the opening of a two day consultative stakeholders workshop on climate change awareness at Ongwediva in Oshana region.
