Community policing has significantly contributed to a decline in criminal activities in the Hardap Region. This was said by the Regional Commander Commissioner, John Lifasi. Community policing is an initiative that was started to prevent and fight crime and it is aimed at taking a proactive responsibility in building partnerships with various stakeholders within communities.

Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga has pleaded with the courts to impose tougher sentences on those convicted of culpable homicide as a result of road accidents. He says this could create deterrence from reckless driving. The Police Chief pleaded with road users to follow the rules of the road as well as report reckless driving.
