Namibia sees notable reduction in mother-to-child HIV infections

At least 370 babies, or 4% of those born in Namibia are infected with HIV, due to mother-to-child transmission. This was revealed by United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) at the ‘Cities Ending the AIDS Epidemic’ campaign in Windhoek.

Flash floods cause mayhem in Johannesburg

South Africans are counting the costs following flash floods this week in Johannesburg. Hundreds of residents of Alexandra township have lost their homes. Public Private Partnership Bill tabled in the National Assembly

Namibia will soon see increased private sector involvement in the provision of public services, through the enactment of the Public Private Partnerships bill. Tabling the bill in the National Assembly, Finance Minister Calle Schlettwein says its main aim is to include the private sector in development projects, like infrastructural development, through partnerships with government.
