Rundu man who hacked five family members to death unfit to stand trial

A man who hacked to death five family members in Rundu’s Ndama Informal Settlement last year is not fit to stand trial. A mental examination report by a state psychiatrist found that 21-year-old Jesaya Gabriel Chihunda is mentally unfit to stand trial.

Case of a man accused of killing his girlfriend at Walvis Bay postponed

A man who killed his girlfriend at Walvis Bay over the weekend appeared in the Magistrate’s Court. Haihambo Phillipus Hafeni, aged 54, allegedly killed his girlfriend, Hanguwo Otilie Mwateuvi, with a kitchen knife.

German company donates disinfectants to tackle Hepatitis E at the coast

A German company is donating a solution that kills microorganisms which cause Hepatitis E to residents of Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. The 20 000 bottles will be distributed to residents in the DRC informal settlement in Swakopmund and Twaloloka settlement in Walvis Bay for the next four months.

FAO gives drought relief aid to farmers at Farm Du Plessis

The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations donated 90 tons of drought relief aid to destitute farmers at Farm Du Plessis, situated 90 kilometres outside Gobabis. The donation forms part of plans by FAO to enhance productivity, lessen the burden of farmers and government and avoid livestock losses.
