Affirmative Repositioning (AR) activist Dimbulukeni Nauyoma is still receiving treatment in hospital for minor injuries he sustained during his arrest on Friday. Nauyoma was taken to the Rhino Park Hospital after High Court Judge Herman Oosthuizen ordered the Namibian Police to take the activist for treatment.
President Hage Geingob has arrived home from Antananarivo, Madagascar. Geingob, in his capacity as SADC Chairperson, attended the inauguration of Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina. He, earlier congratulated the citizens of Madagascar for orderly elections and upholding democratic principles.
The Katima Mulilo’s dumping site has moved to a new temporary area. The relocation follows an order by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in 2018 to close down the current dumping site, as it poses health hazards because of its close proximity to the town.
