Fishing company Oceana celebrated its 100th year of existence recently, inaugurating a new onshore processing plant at Walvis Bay. Oceana employs over 1 000 permanent and temporary workers, across its three subsidiaries in the local fishing industry.

A group of Henties Bay residents are demanding the removal of all the town’s councillors, by 31 December. They accuse the councillors of failing to deliver basic services.
The Henties Bay Mayor says he is excited to see residents exercising their democratic right. He cautioned, however, that they should ensure their claims of councilors acting corruptly, is backed by evidence.
