Heroes Day commemorated

As Namibia commemorates the 50th anniversary of Heroes Day, President Hage Geingob has recognized sacrifices made by Namibians who took up arms against South African colonial forces on August 26 1966, saying, they immortalized themselves through outstanding feats and principles.

Late Messack Victory Namwandi remembered

The family of late former Robbin Island prisoner and Omugulugwombashe hero, Messack Victory Namwandi, commemorated Heroes day at his grave. Namwandi died in 2004 and was one of the first six soldiers who were sent from Tanzania to come into Namibia and mobilise the masses to resist the apartheid South African Government.
