The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) has announced that the due date of the submission for claims for drought mitigation measures, has been extended to 6 April 2020. In a public notice, the ministry indicated that only claims for transactions done from 1 April 2019 until 6 March 2020, which were not submitted before, will be accepted. “Claims must be for one of, or a combination of, livestock marketing, lick and fodder subsidy, lease of grazing and transport hire,” it said. The ministry indicated that the claims must be legitimate and accompanied by a certified copy of identity documents, the Farm Assured Namibia (FANmeat) card, bank confirmation letter, animal movement permits, lease agreement of grazing and transport, and the latest herd statement and proof of transaction. The bank confirmation letter and proof of transactions must be in the name of the applicant. -NAMPA
