The fate of the Omaheke Region delegates at the sixth Swapo Congress still remains unknown as the matter resumes in the High Court. Kejamuina Mungendje, Maleagi Ndisiro, Frans Murangi and Progarius Muriambihu are suing the party and fellow Swapo members to stop 27 of the region’s delegates from attending the upcoming congress. With just hours before the party’s most important decision-making meeting in years kicks off, Deputy Judge President, Hosea Angula is still to decide if irregularities were part of the election process at the regional conference, as alleged. Four applicants are asking the court to prevent some Omaheke delegates from attending the congress and are also applying for an order to have the ruling party’s Omaheke regional conference and the district conferences held in the districts of Aminuis, Kalahari, Okorukambe and Otjinene declared null and void, and set aside.
