President Hage Geingob left for Congo Republic on Sunday to attend that country’s independence celebration. A statement from the Presidency says the Head of State will attend the Independence Anniversary in the capital, Brazzaville. Namibia and the Congo Republic have excellent bilateral relations and a strong bond of friendship, dating back to the days of the Namibian liberation struggle. Congo offered assistance to the SWAPO liberation movement in terms of diplomacy and education to Namibians. The two countries are currently co-operating in a number of areas, including air transport, agriculture, fishing and marine, mining and geology. Nambia and Congo jointly administer the Loudima Institute for Technical and Vocational Training.
