The City Police has urged drivers to be on the lookout for malfunctioning traffic lights. The capital city has of late been experiencing malfunctioning traffic lights due to accidents. The City of Windhoek says this is causing confusion among drivers and more car accidents, due to some impatient motorists. City Police Sergeant Romeo Simasiku said drivers should treat any intersection with malfunctioning traffic lights as a four way and to report it to the department so that the problem can be solved. He added that some of the traffic lights are faulty because they are outdated. Simasiku said the main causes of defaulting traffic lights are caused by drivers who are intoxicated or speeding. Drivers are therefore advised to adhere to the speed limits and be cautious of pedestrians.
