A 20-year-old man was arrested in Otjiwarongo after he drove a blue Mazda sedan into a Shell service station shop on Sunday at about 18h00. The Namibian Police’s regional spokesperson, warrant officer Maureen Mbeha said, “he is charged with drunken driving as well as reckless and or negligent driving.” It is alleged the man failed to stop at a parking bay in front of the shop but instead accelerated into the shop through the glass door. He was arrested after it was discovered that he was heavily intoxicated. A petrol attendant and a customer sustained injuries and are both in stable condition. Police investigations continue.
