An earthquake was recorded 44 kilometres northwest of Khorixas Tuesday afternoon. The Ministry of Mines and Energy in a statement said the event was recorded on all 10 seismic stations of the Namibian seismology network in various towns. The earthquake says the ministry was shallow at a depth of fewer than 10 kilometres with a local magnitude of 4,1. The Geological Survey of Namibia will send out a team in the field to assess and gather information on the event from affected communities tomorrow.
