Higher Education, Training and Innovation Minister Itah Kandjii-Murangi says education is crucial in transforming the future of humans. Dr Kandjii-Murangi says gaining knowledge is a key element in paving the way to Namibia’s industrialisation and poverty eradication goals. She notes that the Government remains committed to improving the education sector to deliver on its aims and objectives in becoming globally competitive by 2030. The minister points out that the ministry is geared to developing desired skills among citizens and instilling the use of technology and innovation in training to make graduates employable. Dr Kandjii-Murangi stresses that education is the only key to eradicating poverty, addressing social imbalances and reducing youth unemployment among other challenges facing the country. She says her ministry and its agencies have started to train and upgrade the skills of the many unqualified and under-qualified instructors. This will be done through training and programmes that are relevant to demands of local and international industries. She made these remarks on her second regional visit to the Omusati region on Friday.
