The Ministry of Finance is appealing to Emergency Income Grant (EIG) applicants who have not been paid yet, to be patient and give the ministry time until Wednesday this week. During the data reconciliation process, applications that were on hold or rejected were cleared, and the ministry has been busy processing payments as of this afternoon. Those who might not be paid by Wednesday will be notified on the way forward. Thus far, the ministry has received 890 098 applications and out of that total just over 346 000 were approved. About 134 000 were rejected while the rest are still being processed.
