Eight Police officers, who were deployed to the United Nations African Mission in Darfur in December last year, have returned home. The group, one woman and seven men, were among 45 Nampol officers sent to the United Nations’ Hybrid Mission, to ensure safety in Darfur. Nampol Inspector General Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga in a speech read on his behalf by the Deputy Inspector General Oscar Embubulu welcomed the group back. Nampol Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga said the force will continue to honour its international obligations, helping to maintain peace and stability across the globe, through deploying well prepared police officers to UN missions. The remaining officers are set to return within three to four months, and more are scheduled for re-deployment next year.
