Erongo RED’s new Paratus substation is proving to be a solution in addressing electricity needs at the coastal town of Walvis Bay. In recent years, Walvis Bay has received major investment in areas of mining, logistics, tourism as well as the ongoing expansion of the port. These initiatives have led to increased demand for electricity at the town. Erongo Red in partnership with Nampower saw it fit to urgently upgrade Walvis Bay’s electricity network. This N$570 million substation, inaugurated on Friday, is one of the projects aimed at improving the electricity network. The power substation supplies electricity to over 15000 households and businesses.
