Auditor General Junias Kandjeke has said failure by the Erongo Regional Council to implement a disaster recovery and business continuity plan is unjustifiable. This is contained in the council’s audit report for the financial year ended 2017. Approached for comment, Erongo Governor Cleophas Mutjavikua says most of the concerns raised in the Auditor-General’s report have been addressed, including the appointments of members of the disaster recovery committee. Mutjavikua says the specific issues referred to in the report will not in any way lead to the qualification or non-qualification of the financial report of the Erongo Region. According to him, Erongo remains one of the few regions with the best audited reports.
