Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia’s (ELCIN) Dr Martin Ngodji has been elected as Bishop for Eastern Diocese while Pastor Gideon Niitenge is the western diocese moderator. They were elected during the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia’s (ELCIN) general synod yesterday. Ngodji received a total of 54 votes against Alpo Enkono’s 21 votes in the second round. Niitenge became the western diocese moderator after defeating Enkono, and Eliakim Shaanika. He scored 43 votes beating Enkono and Shaanika who received 18 and 15 votes respectively.
