First Rand Namibia Foundation has donated more than N$200 000 to the Edulution Centre in Namibia. The foundation trust under First National Bank’s FirstRand Namibia Foundation Trust says the donation aims to empower the planet by improving capacity in education. It says helping Edulation expand will provide quality learning to the youth and help improve their numeracy and literacy skills. Edulution’s foundational courses are aligned to local curricula and benchmarked on international standards, with about 30 coaches entrusted with training. The Centre was established in Zambia four-years ago, as an after school digital learning company. Its expansion to Namibia in March this year has benefited about 2 600 township learners, with the number expected to double in the Khomas Rural Constituency next year. Edulution aims to move away from traditional learning models and tap into new technologies to address learning challenges with the help of new Information and Communication Technology.
