Former Chief Executive Officer of Agribank Leornard Iipumbu has been appointed Chief of Protocol. This was announced in a media statement by the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation today. The statement says the incumbent Chief of Protocol Neville Gertze who has been in the position since March last year, has been assigned to other diplomatic duties. The appointment is with effect from the 1st of August 2016. The 60-year old Iipumbu, who is a former Namibian Ambassador to the United States, retired from Agribank on Friday. The Chief of Protocol is a high ranking officer in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, responsible for advising the Head of State and facilitates matters of national and international diplomatic protocol.
