Government has rejected what it terms a “malicious” news article, published by a British daily tabloid “Daily Star”, claiming that Namibia is ridden with street crime, and not a place to be at night. The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has put it on record that the poorly researched news article contains serious inaccuracies, ambiguities and paints a negative and unfair picture of Namibia. It describes the article as fabrication and misrepresentation of the good global reputation Namibia has as a tourist destination. The news article also completely ignores the peace and political stability the country enjoyed since its independence.
